My sister Rachael Daniel and I have had a project together that we started in Honduras about 5 years ago called "Venomous Kin". This song is the newest song in the "Venomous Kin" format. After the tragedies in Japan I couldn't stop thinking about life and how much I cherish the things I have and love. This song is a sad song about the feelings I went through following the coverage of the disaster. All proceeds will be donated to a relief fund to help the recovery process. I was stunned with the footage of the disaster in Japan. I tried to go through regular day events and could not do any normal functions without thinking about how I would be handling something like that. I also came down with a bad lung and throat cold the same week so I was unable to sing in my normal methods. I decided to track the vocals in a low and almost Tom Waits/Leonard Cohen type of fashion. A collaboration with Vicci Martinez. We wrote this song in her home in Tacoma in one afternoon. Originally using my looping setup to write it. Than I went home and built the music for it and invited Vicci over to track vocals. After listening more I decided that it needed real drums. So I contacted Darin Watkins who plays with Vicci in the Vicci Martinez Band. He agreed to track drums on it. So we took everything out to meet with Mark Simmons at Pacific Studios and we tracked the drums. After adding that, everything came together and here it is.
